ABOUT THE RIDE

The Suffragists Centennial Motorcycle Ride is designed to respect the history of great women in America and inspire modern women to make their own unique mark on history. Ten starting cities with up to 100 riders each will flow together as they head East towards Washington DC arriving on the centennial of the signing of the 19th amendment – giving women the right to vote in the United States. Each of the routes will feature historical points of interest as they roll through the beautiful American countryside.

The ride will include fully-guided and turn-key options, as well as flexible self-guided opportunities that include several adventure bike (ADV) routes for those who wish to explore off-pavement. Major route merges will occur in Denver and Ohio, and routes will continue to meet up and merge until one single large group rolls into Washington  DC, and to the centennial celebrations planned there.

We invite you to be the visible symbol of freedom, opportunity and appreciation for this country as 1,000 women and men ride in admiration and respect for those who came before us, and to inspire future generations through the undeniable joy of motorcycling.

With years of event planning experience and tens of thousands of miles behind us, the team at SCMR2020 understands the power and excitement that such a journey can offer. The camaraderie and friendships that form over the course of these Centennial events have changed lives, established life-long friendships and have brought families together in a way that only riding motorcycles can.

Alisa’s company, Women’s Motorcycle Tours, has been leading epic adventures all around the globe for many years. Her inspiration and vision led to the highly successful Sisters’ centennial Ride in 2016 that marked 100 years since the Van Buren Sisters crossed the US to prove that women are equal to men and should be allowed to join the U.S. Army as dispatch riders. SCMR2020 is another ambitious project that will inspire even more women and couples to explore history and ride coast to coast across our great nation.
